Reverse engineering the top 3 preseason strategies ahead of SCOUT GAME S1

The Dev Is In The Details

Scout Game is a fantasy sports-style platform centered on onchain developers and open-source projects in the blockchain ecosystem. Instead of traditional sports players, users "scout" and pick developer cards representing talented developers contributing to open-source crypto projects. Players collect these exclusive NFT Developer Cards and compete in weekly challenges to earn rewards, including tokens like $Moxie or $OP from partner organizations. The game requires no coding skills, making it accessible to everyone interested in discovering and supporting blockchain developers

Papa here

I have been scouting relatively actively since day one and have accrued some amazing developers.

Unbeknownst to me there were some savages achieving literally 100x the results in the same timespan.

“Good artists copy, Great artists steal”

Obviously whatever I have been doing isn't working so the mission, now that preseason is ending, is to learn from the best and try carry some of those tips and tricks into season one which kicks off on April 28th 2025 after a one week break when the $dev token launches on April 21st 2025.

The japanese purveyor of Omeko Frens aka MIKOSURIHAYAI has ascended the mountaintop to be crowned the king of preseason.

My immediate assumption was that we were dealing with a cracked dev on the precipice of unlocking AGI. So imagine my surprise when the Github for the scouter extraordinaire in question hasn't been touched in six months. This champion isn't even particularly active on farcaster or twitter which are probably the most native social platforms underpinning scout game. What gives?!

We're dealing with a trading master. A connoisseur.

And from the looks of things: one that's not shy about reinvesting when glimmers of opportunity present themselves.

Strategy: Triple Down On Devs That Deliver

Tatiansa

For the silver position 🥈 we have an active farcaster scout whose focus on the app is as wide ranging as finding niche "words of the day" to earning builder rewards on talent protocol.

A slightly more active github account here with circa 30 contributions in the last 12 months, but again the secret sauce is in the trading strategy and gameplay. How? Publicly available asymmetric information.

Each week tatiansa has been sharing updates on where these sources are. Scout Game Shorts on Youtube for instance, stacked with over 81 videos of insight into the market dynamics & lay of the land.

And like every top competitor you've heard of, tatiansa pounces.

On April 4th the scout game team launched Match Up, alongside their secondary market where scouts can list a Developer Card for sale from their profiles + price them in USDC. When a player tries to buy that Developers Card they get the cheapest price, whether from secondary or primary. The listings are integrated directly into the main Developer Card collecting mechanics.

Like clockwork Tatiansa was brewing up team combos for the ages.

Yes of course Tatiansa has read the whitepaper, and claims the free daily quests.

Strategy: Knowledge is power; in a world of asymmetric information, being well-informed is your greatest competitive advantage.

Gabe

An out and out builder, gentleman, and a scholar takes the bronze medal 🥉.

Fortunately I was able to catch up with gabe in an interview over a chess game, dive in for his tactics.

Strategy: "Be determined. Just do it. Community matters — ask questions. Docs are your friend. And AI makes things a lot easier now."
